Photo A Day: Magnolia Blossom

In honor of getting a new camera and needing a reason to play with it…welcome to my Photo A Day! Topic: Whatever strikes my fancy. Frequency: Daily-ish. I hope. It's spring! It's spring! And things are pretty! This magnolia tree is in my side yard. It's an Ann magnolia, I think? In all ways possible, plants and I have come to an uneasy truce. If I were to cook and eat a plant, it would give up its deliciousness to me and we would have a happy dinner. If it's still in the ground, though? That's another story. A plant has to be dead for me to be of use to it (make it pretty in a vase, or yummy), or else I will kill it. I'm not saying I like it, I'm just saying that's how it is. Because I have the blackest thumb in all the land, I take no credit for this magnolia's--or any plant's within my reach--relative health. All green-growing skills exhibited in my home go entirely to George. But he? Is not so good with a camera, which is where I can step in.From what I've figured, I've actually got to touch the plant for my black thumb to do its work, so no-touch photos are still OK. It's best to work around your weaknesses. Bonus: I have no reason to touch fertilizer. :)Happy spring!
