Big Beautiful World 20 -- A Foggy Day on Keuka Lake
It’s a big, beautiful world out there. Let’s stop trying to screw it up. A few years ago George and I booked a little vacation cabin on Keuka Lake (for the unfamiliar, it's one of the Finger Lakes, in New York State). It was a snug little cabin perfect for two, and I would tell you its name but I can't find the listing for it; it's either sold or been taken off the rental market and I digress. The rental included full use of the property's private dock, complete with kayaks and deck chairs and a barbecue grill. Of course, it rained the entire time we were there. It didn't interfere with our wine tour, but it did get in the way of the water sports. On the last day...like, literally, the morning of the last day, as we were packing to go...the rain stopped, turning first into a fog that the sun eventually broke through. As soon as I saw the foggy day I grabbed my camera and ran down to the dock.
